The third place team for the 2010 American Solar Challenge was the Hochschule Bochum. With and elapsed time of 30 hours, 34 minutes, and 50 seconds.

The second place team for the 2010 American Solar Challenge was the University of Minnesota.    With and elapsed time of 30 hours, 26 minutes, and 53 seconds there was only a little more then 10 minutes separating them from the third place finisher.

Race Finish – Naperville, IL

Sat, June 26: Start in Normal, IL; finish and awards ceremony  in Naperville, IL


Naperville North High School located in Naperville, IL, a suburb of Chicago, will host the timing finish line on June 26, 2010.   Depending on weather conditions, teams are estimated to begin arriving on-site at noon through the early afternoon.  Come early to be there when the first team crosses the finish line and be sure to cheer on all of the teams on this accomplishment!  Once on-site, the solar cars will remain on display and the public can take this opportunity to meet the teams.


In conjunction with the finish line activities, Sustainability Partners Inc will host their Naperville Sustainability Challenge, complete with renewable energy displays, products, and activities for the whole family from 10 am to 4 pm.  Learn more about their plans at http://www.sustainabilitypartnersinc.org.

Finish Line Site

The end of timing will be held at Naperville North High School (899 Mill Street), located on the Southwest corner of Ogden Avenue and Mill Street. The tentative route will bring the caravans East on Ogden Ave past the school, then South on Mill Street and into the South parking lot to the finish line.
