2005 North American Solar Challenge
Customs Issues

TIMING

The decision for how to count the border crossing with rayce time was made after consulting with the customs officials about the border crossing process and testing the process during the trial drive. Please note that changes may be made if there is a change to the border crossing process.

Each team's official rayce time will stop at the border zone. The time will stop after the solar car crosses a designated point on the U.S. side and will begin after the solar car caravan clears the gate for Canada Customs.

If a team finishes being processed after 18:30, the team will need to return to the Canada side of the entry port the following morning to begin raycing at 08:30.

If you need to stop for a driver change after clearing customs, you may pull into the truck lot to the right. You will be on the clock at this point.
